Your Donation Makes a Difference
We welcome donations of any size for operating and program support, as well as special fundraising campaigns for high priority village needs. We also act as a fiscal sponsor for the Solid Waste Alaska Taskforce projects, including Backhaul Alaska.

Help us meet the ever increasing demand for funds needed to assist underserved communities. Zender Environmental Health and Research Group is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) and your donations are tax deductible.
10/14/25 Communities in Western Alaska are facing major challenges after the recent storm and flooding. Many areas are dealing with sanitation and waste issues that threaten both public and environmental health.
From October 14, 2025 through at least October 28, 2025, 100% of donations made through our website will go directly toward purchase and freight of emergency environmental health supplies — including safety gear, cleanup supplies and tools, supersacks, drinking water protection and point of use treatment, interim honeybucket storage, mats for accessing sanitation facilities, and other essentials — to help communities safely implement stopgap measures that allow them to safely build and recover from this devastation.
Our team is working alongside local partners to support communities and workers in safe cleanup efforts that reduce exposure to disease and harmful contaminants, ensure secure perimeters around unsafe areas, and protect critical subsistence resources.
Because we have an existing grant program that prioritizes stop gap solutions for addressing imminent and existing serious health risks, we can ensure that all donations will go to communities in need, without any administrative overhead.
