Robin Szmidt 

Robin Szmidt is founder of Target Renewables Ltd, a UK company specialising in AD system concepts. He has been involved in CHAD from the outset and is committed to the broader aspects of renewable energy in society, not just big business. Projects range from microscale retail units for food waste to mega facilities for city-wide waste management. With a PhD in compost biology he previously worked as departmental head at the Scottish Agricultural College advisory service for Scotland, and before that with the English Ministry of Agriculture. He is an honorary lecturer in renewable energy engineering at Aberdeen University. He was a core team member in creating national standards for the UK AD sector and for the American Biogas Council (ABC). An experienced open water swimmer at national level in the UK and the State of Oregon in the US he has no intention of cutting a hole in the ice and jumping in this week.
