Margaret McCauley is an environmental engineer with the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s Pacific Northwest regional office. She’s the instigator and EPA project lead for a series of research projects on anaerobic digestion as a potential tool for sanitation in remote communities where piped solutions are infeasible. She is excited to visit the digesters being constructed for this work at NREL Fairbanks. Margaret lives in Seattle where she pedals her children over the hills and through the drizzle. She designed her own major in Urban Ecology at Harvard and has worked as an international negotiator for the U.S. Department of State on environmental issues.
