Rural Alaska Community Environmental Job Training (‘RaceJT’)

RACEJT-CS Training Overview

STRUCTURE OF RACEJT – CS TRAINING PROGRAM:

RACEJT provides environmental job training for unemployed, or under- employed residents, from rural Alaska communities of less than 1,500 people. Scholarships are available to make the training free for all of our students.

The RACEJT – Core Skills program is conducted via a remote learning format which takes place over seven weeks, earning participants 8 of the 10 college credits towards an Occupational Endorsement with University of Fairbanks, Bristol Bay Campus.

Class materials are sent via post office mail system, email, texts for daily live calls (primarily weekdays), up to 4 hours per day. All participants must have a working phone with capability to text and take photos and must be willing and able to communicate regularly. 2022 Schedule: RACEJT-CS will be held for 7 weeks beginning March 14th only in the advent that Covid19 prevents in-person classes from being held. Apply for the regular Racejt program by November 30th to be considered.
